About Mike Haynes

Mike Haynes has been a professional sports broadcaster for more than 4 decades. His NHL broadcasting career began in 1995 as radio announcer for the Colorado Avalanche and continued with a transition to television in 2004. A winner of 5 Heartland Regional Emmy Awards Haynes is known for his many iconic play-by-play calls including 2 Stanley Cup championships. Demonstrating his versatility, Haynes has proven his ability to take on any broadcasting situation by announcing 14 different sports in his career. Haynes was inducted into the Indiana Sportscasting Hall of Fame in 2019. A family man, he and his wife Victoria have 2 children, daughter Kiara and son Kian.

After losing his dream job in 2018 Haynes fell into a long depression and considered suicide after his career was destroyed and his family wrecked. At his lowest point God spoke to him about repentance. Grace and mercy from God began a monumental change in his life that led Haynes to want to speak to others and help them change their lives from living a duplicitous life of one way with Christian people and another in the secular world.

Haynes now speaks to church groups about his life and how others can leave behind their open and secret sins to become the man God wants them to be.
